Daddy
Josh felt the baby kick this morning. I said, "Aren't you going to say good morning to your son?" He said, "But he's sleeping!" I told him that Alex wasn't sleeping at all. He pushed on my belly and Alex punched back. He's all giddy now.

Promise I'll add photos soon
Really. It's just been a busy week with school orientation and groceries and optometrist and being obsessed with House! :)
I'll get photos of the room with the yellow walls and belly photos shortly.
We did sign up for the Bradley class and have a great feeling about it. The instructors are wonderful and I've been doing my recommended nutrition and exercise programs this week. Wish me luck keeping them up!
Alex has been relatively quiet this week, until today. I guess the work potluck must have gotten him revved up. Cheers!

Paint and Bradley classes
Josh and his mom painted the room a soft, buttery yellow yesterday. It looks great! The room is now ready for decorating, so we'd better go register soon. The shower is in less than two months and we're getting the invite list together! Wednesday will mark the start of the 6th month, and that's where things start to get interesting.
Alex is kicking frequently, with midday and midnight naps. No discomfort yet, but he does seem to be a miniature version of his hyper uncle Tony. Might have an athlete on our hands... or, more specifically from the movement patterns, a martial artist.
We signed up for the free hospital childbirth classes which start in April. My question out there is: Has anyone taken a Bradley childbirth class? I'm really more of a slow, deep relaxation breather than a huff-puff-and-panter (that doesn't calm me down at all)! We're looking into one that is in East Bloomington. It's instructed by the couple, they have a few kids and it's not one of the fooffy home-birth ones, either. Anyone?

Karate Kid
Talk about active. Suddenly I feel Alex all the time... not little butterfly flutters as I was told, but kicks and jabs and punches and general mayhem. Love it!

It's a Boy!
Hyperactive, a little large, and very Hegglike. We're having a son! It was quite obvious, no mystery there! Everyone, meet Alex Anthony Teeter. Cheers!

Regarding Cravings
Wondering about the latest and greatest in cravings? Actually, the kid hasn't had too many. Neither have I... but here's the rub, regardless:
Longest Craving Award: Grapefruit (have eaten 2 or so every day for 7 straight weeks)
Shortest Craving Award: Blueberry Pie (1 hour, very intense in Week 4)
Oldest Craving Award: Beef Jerky (bleah)
Newest Craving Award: Cantaloupe (starting today, surprisingly great ones at the grocery store - must be from the Southern Hemisphere)
Everyday Cravings: Fruit, sour things
Less Frequent Cravings: Spicy things, Asian food
Cravings for Foods I Dislike: French fries, beef jerky, meat pizza, donuts
And, drumroll please for Nastiest Craving Award: Corn dogs (ate 7 in one day, ew!)
Mom Award: received for never once making Dad go out to the store or a restaurant on a moment's notice or in the middle of the night to get her some food.
We're so excited for the ultrasound tomorrow!!!

Blog Design Lesson
Lesson one: To make your blog look great, find a new blog template.
Lesson two: The default blog templates do not look very interesting.
Lesson three: A two hour search of the web does not turn up any non-ugly templates.
Lesson four: Replacing the word "template" with "skin" does not help.
Lesson five: Giving up is possibly the quickest path to sanity - although you don't have to like it.
Well, this is the way it will look for now. Found some cute baby photo and fruit of the week widgets, though.
Baby news: Was awakened at 6am by karate chops from within. Pressed belly on Daddy's back to see if he felt it. Not quite strong enough yet. Keep growing, baby!

Oh yeah... the details

We learned on Josh's birthday, 9/22, that we would be having a baby on or about May 26th! What a week that was... on the same day, we got broken into and Tina got a raise! The first trimester wasn't bad, pretty sleepy and uninterested in food for Tina and the stress of getting Josh's head around the situation. The second trimester has been great throughout the holidays so far, and we've really enjoyed seeing the first 10 week ultrasound (pic above) and listening to the heartbeat. Tomorrow, Wed 1/6, marks the 20 week approx halfway point... yay! Belly pics and more to follow. Cheers!
